Kristin is a freelance photographer and writer based in
Maryland, USA.
She spent the last 6 years traveling around and living in Southeast Asia and Sydney, Australia. Prior to moving down under at the end of 2007, Kristin was based in Jakarta, Indonesia where she spent 5 years photographing its people and places and working in international relief and development. Kristin served 2 years in a rural village in Benin, West Africa as a Peace Corps volunteer after graduating from Wake Forest University with a degree in Economics.
Kristin picked up her first SLR at the age of 15 and spent most of her career shooting on film and developing the images in a black and white darkroom. This website highlights her digital images, a medium she began working with while in Indonesia.
Curiosity and an interest in people shape her approach to photography and everyday life. Born and raised in Maryland's Chesapeake Bay area (USA), Kristin is a fan of the Baltimore Orioles and MD crab feasts.
